Vai. Dhunda Maharaj Deglurkar College

               Muktai Pratisthan’s Vai Dhunda Maharaj Deglurkar College, in Degloor, runs the programmes in Arts & Science faculties since 1998. The main source of the ideology and value framework of Muktai Pratishthan’s Vai Dhunda Maharaj Deglurkar College lies in Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta “प्रज्वलितो ज्ञानमय : प्रदीप :” which means “Enlighten everyone through the lamp of Knowledge.” College goal is “Serve as home of educational, social, and cultural needs of our society”. It holds a unique position in the outer and rural area of Degloor.

               As we are centrally located, space is a big issue for us. But due to the complete support of our parent institution, Muktai Pratishthan, Degloor, we are able to develop a moderately attractive and compact infrastructure for our students making maximum use of available space completely.Recently our parental institution has purchased 2.7 acre land for the college and the Trust has decided to construct independent building in its own Campus with all required amenities and facilities in immediate future.

              Approximately 65-70 percent population of Degloor and surrounding villages is of tribal communities like Mannerwarlu,Mahadev Koli, other backward class communities like Padmashali, Nirali,rangari,golewar, dhangar, teli , koli ,mali and Schedule caste and who are out of stream of education channel. Therefore our founder President Hon’ble Shri Gahininath Maharaj Deglurkar’s vision was to provide quality education to students from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of region, religion, caste, economic strata and academic performance. The institution is located in Degloor town where 95 percent students are from rural area.College has a campus of 641.03 sq.mtrs and built up area of 1839.48 sq.mtrs. College believes in students centric learning for which IQAC focuses on Teaching- Learning methodology. College has a library with 8460 Books, 28 Journals, 12 Magazines, 108 Bound Volumes, 35 CD’s,6500 E-journals and 97000 E-books. College has Local Management Committee as a legal body, which regularly meets for smooth functioning of the College. College has IQAC Committee, under which seminars, conferences, guest and experts lectures are organized.
